Art in the Street

This year Art in the Street was held on Saturday July 2nd on Frederick St. W..  It was the first year at this location and proved to be a huge success.  This year we had a total of 18 booths set up which ranged from jewelry to homemade solar lamps to stain glass to plants and even a farmers market.  There was also arts and crafts for the children as well as an entire street which quickly became full with colourful pictures made by sidewalk chalk.  At 1:00pm there was a book reading and signing from children's author Carolyn Curtis which brought many children and adults to the Cenotaph Park.  Shortly after, the Historical Society had a plaque unveiling followed by a historic walk down Frederick Street which brought out large crowds.

To help show the people passing through our town just how patriotic we really are, the Chamber of Commerce had a window display competition for the downtown businesses.  All of the displays were creative and impressive which made judging them that much harder.  Congratulations go out to Labelle Flowers for winning the competition with their amazing Canada Day display.

We would like to thank everyone who came out to the event and helped make it such a large success.  We would also like the thank our sponsors: Arthur Travel, TD Bank, Royal Bank, and Schneider Power.  Every year the event gets bigger and better so make sure to come out next year!
